Who we work for

Members decide what they think of a gym within a minute of walking in: the smell at the door, the floor under the squat rack, the state of the showers. We clean for that minute, every day.

We are a gym cleaning company in Melbourne that only works in fitness facilities. Our clients are owners who run their own floor, franchisees of 24-hour models who answer to a head office audit, operators of pilates, yoga and boxing studios, managers of multi-zone health clubs, and facility teams responsible for the gym on level two of an office tower. Each of those sites breaks down in a different place, and a crew that knows where saves you the complaint.

A gym is harder work than an office of the same size. Sweat dries into rubber flooring as a film that ordinary mopping just spreads around. Chalk settles into every groove of a lifting platform. Hundreds of hands grip the same bar, pin and console in a day, and the change rooms stay wet for most of it. In a 24-hour gym there is no closed period at all, so the job has to be done while members are still training.

That is the work we are set up for, and what professional gym cleaning in Melbourne should look like: equipment-safe products, split-colour cloths, floor machines sized for commercial fit-outs, a written scope for your site, and a photo report before your first member arrives. If a tap leaks or the soap runs out, you hear about it that morning, not at the end of the month.

The scope

What does gym cleaning in Melbourne actually cover?

Gym cleaning in Melbourne covers floors by surface type, every equipment touchpoint, change rooms and showers, mirrors and internal glass, reception and retail, and bins and consumables, on a schedule set around member hours rather than office hours.

Gym cleaning
Scheduled commercial cleaning built for fitness facilities: sweat and chalk on the floor, high-contact equipment, wet areas in use all day, and access outside business hours.
Who books it
Independent gym owners, 24-hour franchisees, studio operators, health club managers and the facility managers of corporate gyms.
How often
Most gyms need a full clean every day, wet areas topped up while staffed, and a deeper reset each quarter.

Why office cleaners struggle in gyms

A general contractor quotes a gym the way it quotes an office, by the hour and by the square metre. The first month looks fine. Then the rubber goes grey, the showers start to smell by noon, and member feedback starts mentioning the bathrooms.

Sports and gym cleaning in Melbourne also takes in indoor courts, climbing wall landing zones and martial arts rooms, which follow the same rules on different surfaces.

Eight services

What do we clean in a gym?

We offer eight gym services, each explained on its own page: floors, deep cleans, equipment, 24-hour sites, studios, health clubs, daily programs and change rooms. Most sites combine three or four of them into one weekly schedule.

Rubber, timber, turf and tile gym floors cleaned by surface
Floors

Gym floor cleaning

Rubber, sprung timber, turf and tile each need their own chemistry and machine. Rubber gets a pH-neutral auto-scrub, timber stays dry, turf is extracted and grout is scrubbed, so the floor lasts its full life.

Floor methods

Quarterly

Gym deep cleaning

The reset for what a daily clean cannot reach: under treadmills and rigs, behind machines, fans, vents, high ledges, grout and upholstery. Machines are moved and returned under an agreed protocol, with photos of each stage.

Deep clean scope

Touchpoints

Gym equipment cleaning

Consoles, grips, pins, seat adjusters, bars and handles, cleaned with products that will not crack vinyl or cloud screens. Wipe stations help members between sets, but they cannot replace a proper clean.

Equipment care

Scope by facility

Which cleaning scope suits your type of facility?

Pick your facility type below. Each one has its own weak spot: 24-hour gyms never close, studios carry more sweat per square metre, health clubs juggle many zones, and corporate gyms sit inside building rules. The scope shifts to match.

24-hour gyms and franchise sites

The clean happens with members inside, usually in the window your access logs show as quietest, often somewhere between 11pm and 5am. Change rooms go first while traffic is lowest, floors are scrubbed a section at a time behind signage, and the site is walked and photographed before the early crowd.

Franchise owners get results photographed against the items their head office inspector checks, so audit day holds no surprises. Read how we clean overnight sites.

ZoneTypical frequency
Rubber floorMachine scrub nightly
Equipment touchpointsEvery visit
Change roomsNightly, plus a daytime top-up if staffed
Deep cleanQuarterly, or ahead of an audit

Pilates, yoga, spin and boxing studios

Bare feet and faces meet the floor all day, and classes leave little gap between them. We clean after the last class or before the first, and hot rooms can add a quick turnaround mid-afternoon to deal with humidity and mat residue.

The scope is sized to the room, so a two-studio pilates business is not paying for a big-box gym's checklist. See our studio cleaning by format.

Health clubs and multi-zone facilities

Several zones means several standards on the same night. A supervisor runs the crew, zones are split between cleaners, and change rooms get touch cleans through the busiest hours. Reports come back zone by zone, so a manager can see where the pressure sits.

Group fitness rooms, cafe fronts and creche areas can all sit in one scope. More on cleaning large fitness facilities.

Tower fitness rooms are small but packed at 7am, midday and 5pm. We work inside building management rules for inductions, after-hours access and dock bookings, and keep the scope tight: floor, kit, showers, lockers and towel bins.

Our specialty

How do you clean a 24-hour gym without closing it?

We clean 24-hour gyms in the quietest overnight window your access data shows, under your alarm and entry protocol, with wet-floor signage out and zones done in sections so members keep training while we work around them.

The 24-hour model took away the closed hours that cleaning used to rely on. Someone will walk in at 3am, and the crew has to be ready for that. Before the first shift we agree the entry method, who holds the alarm code, what happens if the alarm trips, and who to contact if a member needs help. Crews sign in and out through your own access system, so every visit shows up in your records as well as ours.

Inside, the order matters. Change rooms are done first because overnight traffic there is lowest. Floors are machine-scrubbed a section at a time with a dry path left open. Equipment is wiped station by station so nobody loses their rack for more than a few minutes. Cords, buckets and hoses stay within arm's reach of the cleaner, never across a walkway.

Franchise sites have a head office inspection to pass as well. We work to the standard you hand us and photograph the checklist items your inspector looks for. The detail sits in our overnight protocol for 24-hour gyms.

Floors

How are rubber, timber, turf and tile gym floors cleaned?

Each gym floor surface gets its own chemistry and machine: rubber takes a pH-neutral auto-scrub, sprung timber a damp clean with approved product and no pooling water, turf a vacuum and extraction, and tile a scrub down to the grout.

Racked chrome dumbbells on freshly cleaned rubber gym flooring
Rubber under the racks is scrubbed, rinsed and dried

Rubber and vulcanised

What it needs
pH-neutral cleaner, an auto-scrubber or scrubbing pad, and a full dry.
What ruins it
Solvents, bleach and heavy degreasers that dry the surface and turn it chalky.

Sprung timber and courts

What it needs
Damp microfibre and the product approved by the coating maker.
What ruins it
Soaking, steam, and water left sitting at the board joins.

Turf and sled tracks

What it needs
Vacuum, brush-up and periodic extraction to lift sweat and rubber crumb.
What ruins it
Flooding the backing, and fragranced cleaners that leave a sticky film.

Tiles and wet areas

What it needs
Scrubbing to grout depth, drains cleared, and a dry finish for grip.
What ruins it
Acid cleaners used daily on grout, and residue that turns slippery.

Floors wear out faster from sweat film and chalk than from ordinary dirt. A mop and a strong degreaser can look fine for a month, then the rubber fades to grey and the timber coating starts to lift at the edges. We match product to surface, set machine pressure for your fit-out, and run a chalk routine in lifting areas so the dust does not drift onto the cardio floor. The method for each surface is set out in our floor care guide by surface.

Equipment

Which gym equipment touchpoints get cleaned every visit?

Every visit covers the points members grip or lean on: cardio consoles and handrails, pin selectors and seat adjusters, bar sleeves and knurl, dumbbell handles, bench pads, cable attachments and mats, using products that will not harm screens or upholstery.

Equipment is where members notice cleaning, and where careless cleaning costs money. Bleach cracks vinyl. Alcohol can cloud some console screens. Spray aimed straight at a display can find its way into the electronics. Our crews apply product to the cloth rather than the machine, and let the disinfectant sit for the contact time on its label before wiping it off.

Free-weight areas take the most handling. Dumbbell handles, plate edges, collars and the J-hooks on racks are cleaned every visit, and benches are checked for splits in the vinyl, which trap sweat and cannot be sanitised properly until they are repaired. We flag those in the report so you can get them re-covered.

Wipe stations are a courtesy, not a program. Members use them between sets and mostly wipe the seat. We come behind them and clean the whole contact map. See how our equipment cleaning works.

Change rooms

How do you keep gym change rooms and showers clean?

We clean change rooms every visit to grout and drain depth: shower screens and floors, toilets and urinals, benches, lockers, mirrors and basins, with drains treated where odour starts and mould handled on a prevention cycle rather than a yearly blitz.

Ask members why they left a gym and the change room comes up more often than the equipment. Hair in a drain, black spots along the grout or a sour smell by the lockers will outweigh a new set of dumbbells. The fix is frequency and depth, not stronger fragrance.

Screens are squeegeed dry, which stops the scale that later needs harsh acid to remove. Traps are treated so the smell does not return by lunchtime. On staffed sites we can add peak-hour touch cleans, and paper, soap and sanitiser can be stocked in the same scope. The full method sits under our change room and shower cleaning.

  • Showers scrubbed at the grout line
  • Drains cleared, traps treated
  • Toilets and urinals, inside and out
  • Benches, lockers and hooks
  • Mirrors, basins and hand dryers
  • Consumables checked and refilled

Method

What hygiene method do our crews follow?

Our crews follow a colour-coded system so toilet cloths never touch equipment, use disinfectants listed with the TGA, and leave each one on the surface for the contact time printed on its label. A fast spray and wipe lifts grime but does far less to germs.

  • RedToilets and urinals. Cloths, gloves and mops used here stay here.
  • YellowShowers, basins and the rest of the change room fixtures.
  • BlueGym floor, equipment, reception and office areas.
  • GreenKitchens, cafe counters and staff rooms.

Dwell time is the step most cleaners skip. Every disinfectant label states how long the surface has to stay wet for the product to do what it claims. On a busy floor that can feel slow, so we plan the order of work around it: spray one bank of machines, clean the next, then come back and wipe the first.

We keep our claims plain. Disinfectants sold in Australia are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, which sets the rules on what a label may claim and when a product must be listed on the national register. We use products listed for commercial use, we do not quote kill-rate percentages, and we do not fog rooms for show.

Tinea spreads through warm, damp communal floors, towels and change rooms, according to the Better Health Channel, which is why shower floors and training mats get the closest attention. Our own crews work to WorkSafe Victoria guidance on chemical handling and safety data sheets. For the longer version, read our gym hygiene standards guide.

Coverage

Which parts of Melbourne do we cover?

We cover all of metropolitan Melbourne, with five precinct pages where gym types and access conditions differ most: the CBD, Clayton and Monash, Kew and the inner east, North Melbourne and the inner north, and Gladstone Park and the north west.

Map illustration of gym cleaning coverage across Melbourne

Where a gym sits changes how it gets cleaned. A basement gym under a city tower needs a building induction and a loading dock booking before the first shift. A strip-front 24-hour site in the suburbs needs a crew that can arrive at 11pm and park out the front. A converted warehouse box needs a chalk plan more than a mirror plan.

Each precinct page describes the gyms we find there and the scheduling that works for them. If you searched for gym cleaning services near me and landed here, the areas we serve page shows the full coverage map.

We only work in metropolitan Melbourne. Interstate owners can still use our guides to brief a local cleaner.

Pricing

What does gym cleaning cost in Melbourne?

Gym cleaning is priced per visit for daily programs and per scope for deep cleans. The figure depends on floor area, the number of wet areas, visit frequency, the access window and whether consumables are included, and it comes to you as a fixed price in writing.

Price driverWhy it mattersEffect on price

Every quote includes

  • Products, machines and cloths
  • A written scope by zone
  • A photo report every visit
  • One named contact

We do not publish one flat rate, because a 120 m² pilates studio and a 2,000 m² health club share little beyond the word gym. What we can show is where the money goes, so you can compare quotes on the same basis. Program clients pay a locked per-visit rate that sits below casual pricing. The rate structures, and how studios and small sites are priced, are on our page about gym cleaning costs in Melbourne.

Be careful with the cheapest quote. Gyms change cleaners more often than most commercial clients, and the usual reason is a price that only worked while the showers were being skipped. Before you compare, check that each quote names the wet areas, the products, the visit length and the reporting. If one leaves those out, it is not the same job.

Programs

How do daily programs and gym cleaning contracts work?

A program fixes a regular clean, usually daily before open or overnight, then layers weekly detail work and a quarterly deep clean on top. You pay one locked rate per visit, receive a report every visit, and can add consumable stocking to the same agreement.

Shape 1

Daily, before open

For gyms that close overnight. The crew arrives after close or in the early hours and hands back a finished site before the doors open.

Shape 2

Overnight

For 24-hour sites. The heavy work goes into the quiet window, with lighter daytime top-ups scheduled only if you want them.

Shape 3

Split shift

For busy clubs and studios. A main clean overnight or early, then touch cleans on change rooms and busy kit through peak hours.

On top of the regular visit, a program runs an add-on cycle so small jobs never pile up into a big one:

  1. DailyTouchpoints, wet areas, floors, bins and glass smudges.
  2. WeeklyDetail work: vents at hand height, skirting, upholstery checks.
  3. QuarterlyUnder and behind machines, grout, fans and high ledges.

The quarterly step is our deep clean for gyms, booked in advance so it lands before audits and busy seasons rather than after them. Setting up a new site usually takes the first week: a site walk, a written scope, access and alarm set-up, then a first shift with the supervisor on site. Terms, notice periods and how the add-on cycle is scheduled are explained under how our programs are set up.

Switching

Why do gym owners switch cleaners?

Owners usually switch for one of five reasons: rushed or missed visits, change rooms that slip between cleans, products that damage floors or vinyl, an office-cleaning mindset, and no proof of what was done. Our program is built to remove each one.

  1. Visits that happen when nobody is watching. You get a timestamped photo report after every visit, so the work can be checked from home before your first member arrives.
  2. Change rooms that look fine at 6am and tired by noon.Drains are treated at the trap, and staffed sites can add touch cleans through the busy hours.
  3. The wrong chemistry.Products are matched to the surface, and screens are cleaned cloth-first, so your flooring and kit last their full life.
  4. Treating a gym like an office. Our crews only clean fitness facilities, and they are trained on the kit and floors you actually have.
  5. Nobody to call when it goes wrong. You get one named contact, and issues are flagged in the report the same morning.

There is no official ranking of the best gym cleaning service in Melbourne, so judge any contractor, including us, on those five points, and ask to see a sample report before you sign. You can also read who we are and how our crews are trained.

Quotes

How do you get a fixed quote for your gym?

Send us your facility type, floor area, number of change rooms and showers, and the hours we can access the site. A fixed quote comes back within 24 hours, and daily programs get a site walk-through with you before anything is signed.

  1. 1Tell us about the siteAbout two minutes online. Photos of the floors and change rooms make the quote sharper.
  2. 2We price it or walk itSmall sites are priced from details and photos. Programs get a free walk-through first.
  3. 3First clean and first reportA supervisor joins the first shift, and we agree the report format with you.

A quote is only as accurate as the details behind it. These are the ones that move the number:

  • Facility type and rough m²
  • Change rooms, showers and toilets
  • Floor surfaces on site
  • Access hours and alarm set-up
  • How often you want us in
  • Any franchise standard to meet

No phone tag and no sales visit for a small studio. On bigger sites the walk-through checks what photos miss: drains, grout and how the alarm zones are split. When you are ready, get a fixed quote and we will take it from there.

FAQ

What do gym owners ask before booking a cleaner?

Short answers to the questions that come up in almost every first conversation. For checklists, frequency tables and buying advice, browse our guides for gym owners and managers.

How much does gym cleaning cost in Melbourne?
There is no flat rate, because floor area, wet areas, visit frequency and access hours change the job. We price daily programs per visit and deep cleans per scope, and program visits cost less than one-off cleans. Send your details and a written figure follows within 24 hours.
Can you clean a 24-hour gym overnight?
Yes, overnight work makes up most of our 24-hour gym cleaning. We settle the entry and alarm procedure first, plan around your quietest hours, keep signs out near anyone training and finish the heavy jobs before the early crowd. Each shift is logged in your access system and photographed.
Do you clean during staffed hours?
Yes, as touch cleans. The main clean happens outside peak times, then a cleaner can return during the day to reset change rooms, restock paper and soap, and wipe the busiest kit. This suits health clubs and busy studios where showers run almost constantly.
What disinfectants do you use?
We use disinfectants listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration for commercial use, chosen to be safe on equipment, vinyl and screens. Each stays on the surface for its labelled contact time. Product names and safety data sheets come with your written scope, so your team knows exactly what is on site.
Do you clean showers and change rooms daily?
On daily programs, yes. Showers, toilets, benches, lockers, mirrors and floors are done at every visit, drains are treated on a regular cycle for odour, and grout is scrubbed to stop mould taking hold. Sites with heavy daytime use can add touch cleans between visits.
Do you service boutique studios?
Yes. Pilates, yoga, hot yoga, spin, boxing and martial arts studios are a big share of our work. Scopes are sized to the room and priced to match, and cleans are timed around the class timetable so no session is interrupted by a mop.
How fast can you quote?
Most sites get a fixed quote within 24 hours of sending their details. Larger facilities and daily programs get a walk-through first, usually booked within the week, and the written quote follows straight after. Photos of the change rooms and floors speed things up.
Do you supply consumables like paper and soap?
Yes, if you want us to. Toilet paper, hand towel, soap and sanitiser can be stocked by the crew under the same agreement, listed as a separate line on the quote. Many owners prefer it because nobody on staff has to keep an eye on the levels.
Do you clean pools or saunas?
Pools and pool plant are outside our scope, and we say so at the start. Sauna and steam room benches, floors and surrounds can be included for health clubs once we have seen the room and confirmed the products suit the timber and heat.
Do you clean gyms outside Melbourne?
No. Our crews work across metropolitan Melbourne only, from the CBD to the inner east, the inner north, the south east and the north west. If your gym is in another Australian city, our free guides can help you brief a local cleaner on what a gym scope should cover.

One fixed price. One report every visit. A gym that is ready before your first member.

Tell us about your site and you will have a written quote within 24 hours. No call centre, no pressure, and no lock-in to find out the number.
